In 2004 Mike Pulcinella began to shoot his bodybuilder brother Dave as he prepared for his second attempt to win the Mr. Delaware competition. Little did they know the dramatic things that would occur on camera, or the underground sensation that the resulting documentary, “Raising the Bar”, would become.
As Mike says, “I was not a bodybuilding fan at that time. I was an outsider to this world just trying to tell a story. I had no idea we were breaking new ground. No one had even been as honest and open about the effects of the sport of bodybuilding on relationships as Dave was in RTB.”
Since then Mike has turned what was once a hobby into an all-consuming passion, and a new career. In addition to three volumes of RTB featuring Dave and others, Mike has worked with some of the biggest stars of the sport such as Victor Martinez, Kai Greene, Rodney Roller, Craig Richardson, Adela Garcia and Vicki Nixon.
Mike Pulcinella Video Productions has produced full length bodybuilding documentaries for DVD as well as many shorter videos for online viewing. Mike runs a video forum, Fitness Video University (http://fitnessvideou.com/home). His painfully honest documentary “Kai Greene: OVERKILL” helped redefine a new direction in bodybuilding videos.
“This new career has been once of the most unexpected surprises of my life! Getting my own page on Muscular Development.com to preview my work is something I have been working hard toward for several years and I was very happy when they offered me the opportunity.”
The Pulcinella Productions page will be a place to view teasers, rare outtakes, sample clips and raw footage from some of the Mike’s newest projects before anyone else gets to see them.
“In conjuntion with my Facebook page, I want the Pulcinella Productions page on MD to be THE place to go to see my work in progress, as well as some special suprises that I have up my sleeve.
Thanks to everyone for being such a supportive community. I wouldn’t be doing what I am doing without all of you.”
